They actually called it and closed the schools so nobody has to risk sliding around on those icy roads today. I was staring at my driveway thinking about those buses and now I can finally stop refreshing the news page every five seconds. We did it and I guess I …

I believe initially keeping a 2 hour delay and reevaluation is a good call. However after shoveling snow and seeing the amount of sleet on my driveway and the street, I worry for people who have to walk to school or bus stops. Secondary roads all over the county are still a mess. With most of the county expected to be in the mid 20's this night and not get above freezing until after 11, It would be scary commute. Especially on a bus. Most kids parents leave for work at 7-8am. This would increase the risk of people on the bus. Would hate to see more scenes like this https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Raw-Video... .

I really thought this might just disappear into the void but looking at how many people actually care about these icy roads is honestly overwhelming. It makes me feel a lot less crazy for worrying about the buses and those side streets because it is just not safe out there right now.

Agreed! On my way to school so many people don’t shovel their sidewalk and I’m forced to walk on the road which is very dangerous

It is both windy and icy which is not a good combination so if you could just worry about our safety, that'd be great

Icy neighborhoods so dangerous for kids to get to bus stops. Also concerned for bus sliding since it's going to be below freezing throughout the night all the way till morning

I walk to school everyday, almost 2 miles. My part of MOCO is never treated and the sidewalks and streets. I also know school buses drive on these roads. Please cancel school

I know snow is melting pretty slowly but it would be very inconsiderate to forget about the people who walk to school or walk to bus stops. Moco is the 14th largest county is the country, so these people that make these decisions should go in neighborhoods and check th sidewalks not just the roads or schools zones. I would rather have them cancel one of our days off then have so many incidents happen tomorrow morning. Better safe than sorry.

Not to mention that a Montgomery County snow plow tipped over earlier today because of icy road conditions.
