The district finally agreed to build our tennis facility. Seeing the courts become a reality for my children and their teammates feels surreal after all the work we put into this. We turned a dream into a plan and I am incredibly proud of what we achieved together.

We, the undersigned, call on the Platte County R-3 School District to take action toward the construction of an outdoor tennis facility consisting of eight courts with lighting conduits in the first phase, with eventual placement of lighting on four of the courts. Target date for phase 1 completion would be August 31, 2016. Later phases would include bleacher seating for spectators, players, and coaches. Funding for the project will come from private contributions, grants, endowments, school district support, and in-kind donations.

My own kids are tired of traveling to practice because our district lacks its own courts. We are approaching 250 signatures so please send this link to your neighbors right now to push us over that mark.

My own child is tired of traveling to other districts just to practice the sport they love. We are nearing one hundred signatures and need a final push to show the board that this community is ready for our own courts.

There is obvious interest and talent to support construction of tennis courts. I'd be happy to see my tax dollars spent in this way.

PCR3 committed to this conference, and its corresponding standards over 8 years ago. It is past time to meet those expectations.

I grew up on a tennis court, continued through college and have started playing again. This is a life long sport that many can benefit. Would love to see a junior program started in Platte City that would feed our high school, but not a possibility without courts!

The school really needs this, but our whole community would also benefit so much from this facility! We have to drive to Park Hill to play family tennis. The local restaurants and gas stations would also benefit from this! Come on, Platte City! We have parks, a YMCA with a pool, walking trails, golf course, but NO tennis courts.

Not much of a tennis fan but the fact that we don't have home tennis courts for such a successful program is pretty embarrassing.

After having been a varsity sport for at least the last ten years, it is about time that the coaches, players, and community of Platte City have somewhere nice to play. With the success this sport has had, they deserve it more than anything.
