The leadership of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has come under intense scrutiny following their Emergency General Meeting. There is growing concern among members that current leadership is actively misrepresenting their interests and failing to uphold the standards. It's important to note that RCP, whose membership consists of 40,000 doctors, plays a crucial role in setting health guidelines and shaping public health policy (see RCP Annual Report). Therefore, the huge misstep that is the PA project has far-reaching patient safety implications. RCP have stated financial implications amongst the reasons to not halt the expansion of Physician Associates. We believe it's time for a vote of no confidence to ensure transparency and accountability within RCP. This petition calls upon all members and stakeholders to support this VONC.
Please sign this petition - it's time for new leadership at RCP.

I am signing this because the RCP have not revealed their conflict of interest in full. How much money has the RCP made from this and how big will be the financial hit if they stopped supporting it in full. For the sake of transparency they should give the actual figures.

PA is not the future of NHS. GMC emphasises so much on patient safety yet allows PAs to assess patients. Irony. The public should be made aware that this system is non sustainable and is a threat to the healthcare.

The royal college has failed in its role to provide high quality medical practitioners for the care of patients in the UK. By adopting the new role for PAs, it has undermined the value of being a doctor and has opened the gates for further devalue in the future.

The deputy registrar resigning having been in post relatively breifly is not sufficient to account for what has been scandalous governance of the college from the top. The RCP registrar must resign to have any hope of restoring a sense of credibility both on a domestic and international level.

The leadership is not taking the concerns of the membership seriously and is deliberately obfuscating data from a survey amongst other glaring issues. To not provide even basic data prior to a vote on motions taking place is disgraceful and appears corrupt.

I am a final year student doctor and your recent performance at the EGM has been put on the long list of things making me concerned and scared to be graduating in the current medical workforce and climate. You should be ashamed at how you treat your members.

We need real doctors, not PAs who have studied for a mere 2 years and then look for diangnoses on Google.
