As a caring pet owner, I frequently take my dog(s) to the off-leash dog area at Earl Bales Park for some much-needed exercise and playtime with other dogs. While the park provides a safe and secure area for dogs to run around and play, there is little relief from the sun. There is no shade, except in a small area, and it lasts for only a couple of hours in the morning. With temperatures reaching the 40s in the summer, it is extremely hot for all the dogs and their owners. Dogs also need access to clean drinking water at all times; a drinking fountain similar to the one in the Sunnybrook off-leash dog park would be greatly appreciated.

In order to keep our dogs and ourselves safe, healthy and comfortable, we are requesting some shady areas and a water supply at the Earl Bales off-leash dog park.
