Help us get pedestrian crossings on the Daingean Road crossing for Shs school to the Ball Alley car park and a crossing from Tullamore College to St. Marys Youth and community centre.
I have submitted a formal request for a traffic safety audit to the roads department based on the collision risks identified at these two locations. We are now awaiting a confirmed time for a consultation with local council engineers to review the proposed placements.

This is badly needed I cross here twice a day - once at the Saint Mary's youth centre and once at daingean road and it is always very difficult to cross, and dangerous as cars park and block the view of on coming cars

The crossings here are badly needed. Funding was approved in the council for this. Unfortunately council officials are dragging their feelings and are waiting for the College entrance to be finished.
I raised this at the last council meeting and the response was that the council is now liasing with the schools about location and design.
Keep
The pressure up and good luck with the petition.

This crossing would benefit the SHS and the vocational school. Also the children from St Marys youth and community centre also.

This is badly needed as it's quite dangerous and difficult to cross both roads, especially after school for students

A pedestrian crossing would be very beneficial for the Daingean Rd as I cross there every day after school and some days it is very hard to get a clear road to cross or for someone to let you across the road. It would ensure the safety of the students of the Tullamore College and Sacred Heart School if there was a pedestrian crossing there.

I think this is a brilliant opportunity to bring in more tourism as its close to many attractions, thank you.
