We, the undersigned couriers for Uber Eats, respectfully submit the following proposals to enhance our working conditions, improve delivery efficiency, and foster greater satisfaction among couriers and the platform alike. Our aim is to ensure a fairer, more balanced work environment that benefits both couriers and customers. 1. Reintroduction of the €2 Bonus Per Order The previous bonus structure served as a vital motivator and provided fair compensation for our efforts. We strongly advocate for its reinstatement. In return, we are willing to revert to the earlier bonus system with two specific timeslots per day, which required fewer deliveries and resulted in lower overall payouts. This adjustment would create a balanced and sustainable incentive program. 2. Shorter Delivery Distances for Bikers We request that delivery distances be limited to a maximum of 5 km, accounting for the entire journey, including travel to the restaurant, the customer, and back to the zone. This change is critical in maintaining efficiency, fairness, and physical feasibility for bike couriers. 3. Work Within Specified Zones To avoid being sent far outside the city or into unfamiliar areas, we propose the implementation of defined work zones. This will ensure consistent operations, minimize unnecessary travel time, and enhance productivity. 4. Allowance for Long-Distance Orders For orders exceeding 5 km, we propose an additional compensation of €0.20 per kilometer. This allowance would fairly reflect the extra effort and time required for long-distance deliveries, ensuring fair remuneration for extended trips. 5. Greater Freedom to Accept or Reject Orders Couriers should have the flexibility to choose which orders to accept, allowing for more efficient route planning and time management. For instance, prioritizing double or triple orders is often more productive and beneficial than accepting single, lengthy trips. 6. Removal of Auto-Accept Feature The auto-accept feature has led to significant dissatisfaction among couriers, as it limits our ability to make strategic decisions about our deliveries. For e-bikers, this feature is particularly problematic, making it difficult to manage battery life over an extended 8-hour shift. We believe removing auto-accept will improve efficiency and courier satisfaction. 7. Optional Rejection of Long-Distance Orders Even with the proposed allowance for long-distance orders, couriers should not be forced to accept deliveries beyond 5 km if they do not align with their personal preferences or schedules. Having the option to decline such orders ensures greater flexibility and control over our workload. We believe these proposals will contribute to a fairer, more efficient delivery system that enhances courier satisfaction while maintaining the high standards of service expected by customers. We kindly urge Uber Eats to consider these recommendations and work collaboratively towards their implementation. Thank you for your time and understanding. We look forward to discussing these proposals further and reaching mutually beneficial solutions
