Final supporters
We the undersigned are students who are unhappy with how the industrial dispute between staff and management has impacted on this year’s education.
We stand by the lecturers and university staff reasoning for strikes however we are concerned over the threat of a marking boycott and what this will mean for students who are graduating or students who need grades to progress in university or for finance and support.
However we also believe that the cuts to lecturers and university staff pay have been unfair, especially considering the high salary of individuals such as the vice chancellor and chancellor.
1) We therefore urge for university management to go back into negotiations with staff and union representative to work out a fair pay settlement, which includes a living wage for the lowest paid staff
2) We also believe that the pay that the strikers have lost and any future pay is given to the student hardship fund rather than being kept by the university.
3) We believe us as students should not be hindered in exams, essays and dissertations by any decisions made during the marking boycott of using non specialists to mark our work

As a postgrad I see on a daily basis what negative impact the no or low paa policies at the unis have on student experience. I fully support the lecturers in this dispute!
Whilst recognising the situation, as a final year student enough disruption through the strikes has already taken place this year. A marking ban cannot go ahead, potentially treating our future careers if we can't show employers we have successfully graduated.
If the problem is between the management and the lecturers why is it the students paying the penalty? Both parties need to re-assess where they stand and what they are doing.
I require my final grades for civil service fast track. I have given this university 10,000 pounds for what frankly was not worth half of that.
I fully support the strikes and think it's outrageous that staff are receiving minimal pay increases whilst the VC etc give themselves much higher pay packages. Whilst i do not want my marks (final year) to be potentially delayed, if this is the only way to force the university to listen, then so be it!
I wholeheartedly support the lecturers in this dispute. An agreement must be reached. A fair pay settlement is necessary
I whole heartedly support lecturers to receive what they deserved. I wish to make it know that I want University lecturers to receive what they are entitled to. I however cannot support a marking boycott

The VC wants to get his priorties right. Giving himself a 12% pay increase is unacceptable! A disgrace to his profession to not allow a 1% increase for lecturerers pay yet boost his own salary up £24,000!!! Disgusting.
