As residents, parents and taxpayers of the County of Monroe, Georgia, we are cordially requesting your consideration for a Boys & Girls Club, Inc. (B&GC) to be available in our county. As you are aware, our youth who may be too old to attend a daycare facility, do not at the present time have an extended recreation center for their after school or summer vacation activities. We believe those youth who cannot otherwise afford to visit summer camps during summer vacation, should have a place to go during this period to continue stimulating their minds instead of being in the streets possibly getting in trouble or worse. The B&GC, Inc. would also be a viable means for our youth to continue their education, learn a trade, develop a positive use of their leisure time, encourage fitness, develop social and interpersonal skills, and become responsible self-sufficient adults and contributing members of their society. We believe our children deserve these opportunities. We appreciate you consideration, and welcome your thoughts and feedback.
