Petition for a Staff-Only Swim Squad
We, the undersigned swim school staff and instructors, support the creation of a staff-only swim squad to run once or twice a week after swim school hours (e.g. Thursdays at 8:00pm) in the outdoor pool.
This voluntary and optional, staff-led group will:
- Support physical and social wellbeing through fun, regular exercise.
- Strengthen team culture and collaboration in a relaxed, inclusive setting.
- Improve teaching quality by helping staff learn strokes, build consistency, and share techniques.
- Feature rotating instructors, giving everyone the chance to lead, learn, and experiment with new teaching approaches.
We propose free pool entry, one lane allocation, and acknowledge this initiative as a valuable professional development opportunity that benefits the entire Bayside Council Swim Program.
