Minnies friends has been in the heart of Loughborough, offering a warm welcome to the local community and surrounding area. They have served countless vulnerable people, providing them with hot meals, packed lunches, hot drinks, clothes, guidance and company.
Set up in 2010 by Carol Phillips to help the homeless and people with drug and alcohol addiction to make sure that no one went hungry and got the help and advice they need.
Carol handed her charity over as her health was poor, but after doing so the trustees decided to change the name to 'the drop in'. This has devastated carol as Minnies friends was set up in memory of her daughter Donna phillips, nicknamed minnie, who sadly passed away in 2005 due to Alcohol addiction.
There is no reason to change the name so please support us to stop the name change.

Absolutely disgusted that they want to change minnies name . Minnies is a very special name and they had helped loads of people I've done some voluntary work with my mum there and we loved every minute of it . Everybody that volunteered there did there bit and .minnies mean a lot to Carol and Cheryl and to everybody who knew Donna so do not ever change the name MINNIES
Donnas name should never be took out off the meaning off this charity! xxx all the hard work put on by my aunty and the team means everything xx
Why would you want to change the name of such a valuable resource that's is already known, recognised and trusted by the local people who need the service?
Everyone who knows Minnie's knows the wonderful work they have always done for Loughborough town residents also people from further a field people only have to hear the name Minnie's and know there is help available to change this would be detrimental to all that Minnie's is known for I'm sure I'm not only speaking for myself
This is disgraceful, it was set up by a loving , greaving mum who wanted to turn the loss of her daughter into something positive to help people in the community under her affectionate name Minnies. Lets fight for Minnies, Carol and everyone who works tirelessly for such a good cause
The legacy of the charity should be upheld.

I support MINNIES FRIENDS, not any DROP IN in their name. It was set up in MEMORY or someone and is dear to a LOT of peoples hearts. I support MINNIES FRIENDS as they have helped my daughter when she needed help and support and will continue to do so.
