Logo is no good the old one was way better. The amount of money that was spent to change the logo could have been spent towards a better cause.

In what way is an orange "S" distinctive to Syracuse? A yellow "M" to Michigan? An orange and green "U" to Miami? These logos are no more elaborate than the blue and white "NH" and they are recognizable nationwide as logos for their universities.

This logo does not embody the culture or community of UNH. It is plain, and completely non-distinctive to the school.

Ring back the old logo- t hall is where it all started even if unh has expande to different campuses. It represents the roots of unh and where it all began. It's bad enough taking the symbol away but to replace it with something that could have been made on any computer is just sad. To pay 65k for it is outrageous- especially since it's students paying for it in the long run. We need to be financially responsible as a whole. Bring back the old logo and get a refund.

This logo is terrible. I love the fact that someone showed how easily it can be made in paint. Bring back the T-Hall logo.

In what way does this logo incorporate what UNH is or is about? It looks like a shitty healthcare symbol and why are we spending this kind of money for something so dull?

A firm was hired because there are many colors, fonts, symbols, etc. that are trademarked. Marketing firms handle the research and legality of creating logos. That's why they're in business. It saves the university from a lawsuit that would undoubtedly cost more than the hiring of a marketing firm in the first place. The money used to hire the firm was from private donations. The logo is comprised of "NH" in the University colors of blue and white. I fail to see how that "has nothing to do with UNH." The use of the Thompson Hall logo is applicable only to the Durham campus. UNH extends beyond Durham with campuses in Concord and Manchester. The new logo can be used on all campuses and be a recognizable symbol for the university system of New Hampshire.

This logo is ugly and it was a waste of money. Sorry, but we should have kept the old one.

Student body, present and alum, should have had an impact on the logo change.

Waste of money. There was nothing wrong with the old logo. If you want to change it do a competition for current and past students. Winner gets tuition or loan repayment assistance.

Besides that fact that the entire UNH identity and tradition of the university has been lost with this new logo, the amount of money spent is disgusting! In todays academic culture and the cost of education, this money could have been better allocated to scholarships and educational support. What a loss for the university.

Could have just offered a 100 dollar gift card to the student with the best design and let students submit the design. Or could have left the old better logo how it was.

Designing a new logo is a task that should have been first offered to students and alumni before the school shelled out any amount of money. Let the people who care about the school have a greater hand in how it is represented.
