The council has officially rejected the application for the monopole at St Mary's Church. It has been a long and draining fight but I am relieved that we managed to protect this site. We should keep an eye on the area just in case a new application appears.

The council remains silent regarding the planned installation in front of St Mary's Church. It is exhausting to keep pushing against this wall but I refuse to let them hide this project behind paperwork.

I understand that mobile masts are important but they should appear carefully on the street scene, especially in conservation areas or close to important buildings. In this case, to plant a tall mobile mast next to a historic church, St Mary’s in Wimbledon Village, would not be ideal or appropriate. I object to this location and look forward to seeing a revised location.
St Mary’s is an historic listed building and is an integral part of Wimbledon Village. This unsightly mast in a conservation area will spoil the iconic view and be detrimental to the area.
This has to be one of the most beautiful spots in Wimbledon village which, thanks to the iconic steeple of St Mary's church, is known to millions of tennis fans around the world. Please don't let us spoil it in this way.
Location in such an open spot, enjoyed by many for it's views of green space and the historic church seems an ill-considered choice. Although the application states alternative locations that have been considered and discounted, I am not convinced that this site is the only viable alternative and that it would not be possible to position the mast in a less obtrusive location.
Wholly inappropriate location for any telecoms installation, let alone this 18 metre pole with 4 associated cabinets which would blight the magnificent view of St. Mary's Church and its spire and block the busy pavement in this iconic location within the North Wimbledon Conservation area.
How disappointing that this site is even being considered. Let's hope this outcry will be successful!
This is not the place for a mast. It is an iconic area of Wimbledon and should be protected so its attractiveness endures for more centuries ..

Not only is this in a prominent place in a Conservation Area, the application is for Hutchison who are key supplier for Huawei in the UK. The Government has banned buying new Huawei 5G equipment after 31/12/20.
