The City of Cape Town has published a proposal to lease a portion of the Lyon/Picardy park in Morningside for the installation of a 15m cellphone mast, for a period of 10 years. As residents of Morningside we are vehemently opposed to this, for the following reasons.
1. Negative Impact on Property Value and Marketability
2. Visual and Environmental Intrusion
3. Health and Well-Being Concerns
4. Noise, Lighting and Security Risks
5. Construction and Access Disruption
6. Alternative Sites Should Be Considered

I strongly opose to the city to lease and use this green belt with its beautiful and well kept indigenous garden and play area for kids. 5G technology poses health risks and its an eye sore in a residential area. Many thanks for your consideration.
Unsightly tower in a neighbourhood that has only one and two storey houses. It will spoil the natural beauty of the area.
I strongly oppose the erection of this Cellphone mast unless you can provide proof from a proper scientific long term study by independent researchers showing that cellphone towers with the same radiation as the proposed tower do not have any negative side affect on the people, animals and environment nearby.
To the authorities concerned, I would like to voice my objection to the erection of a telecommunications mast in Lyon Park, right in the middle of a residential area.
This is also an area with rare vegetation that needs to be considered before this can be put in place.
Convenience should not always be the priority. The health negatives outway the benefits

This seriously affects the value of our property and is unsightly. A better location can be sought in a commercial / factory area without residential housing. Unacceptable
