This petition will be submitted to faculty and administration in order for them to consider significantly limiting the intrusive presence of petition workers at our campus. Many of these workers have crossed the boundaries of decency and come into our buildings and food courts and interrupt our daily life even when we clearly do not want to be bothered. They accumulate and block heavily trafficked areas (outside of GC or under the library) and make it impossible to pass by without getting constantly harassed when often we just want to get to class undisturbed. This should put pressure on administration to limit their activities. Legally they can be there since it's a public campus, but they do not have the right to solicit inside the buildings. A proposed solution would be implementing a designated space where they can be.

I have to lie whenever they ask me to vote. I’m trying to get to my destination in peace. I have to pretend I’m on the phone, or listening to music with my earphones, whatever. The worst part is, you tell them politely you don’t want to, then they guilt trip you!
The petitioners are extremely disrespectful, I’ve been harassed by them multiple times in the Barnes and nobles cafe in GC as well as studying in GL.
I support free speech but I do believe students should have the right to enjoy the FIU campus without disturbance.
These petitioners constantly bother me when I’m running to class. They oftentimes block narrow sidewalks which makes it extremely inconvenient to avoid them.
The sheer quantity of petitioners alone is abruptive let alone their methods. At least 80% of my meals are interrupted by them.
Get rid of petitioners
