MTN finally folded and agreed to revise these predatory data prices. They thought they could bleed us dry while posting record profits, but they were wrong. Stay alert because we will hold them to this commitment and keep fighting if they try to pull this stunt again.
This is a petition against MTN Ghana over their persistent increases in Internet data.
In the last year, MTN data charges have moved from 399 cedis for 214GB to 399 cedis for 182GB, and now 350 cedis can only get you 92GB of data.
What this means is that, if you used to use 182GB of data for a month which was 399 cedis a few weeks ago, getting the same 182GB of data would mean you spend 700 cedis on the purchase since 350 cedis can only get you 92GB.
The excuse of MTN Ghana has been that these changes in their prices are due to the high cost of operations.
Judging from how loyal Ghanaians have been to the MTN for almost 2 decades since they announced their presence in Ghana, it’s shocking that MTN is making it a duty to pass on every cost of operations to its customers when they keep announcing billions of cedis in profits annually.
What this petition seeks to do is to send a notice to MTN to immediately review their data charges that best suit the user and not the outrageous ones they are currently selling.
Failure to do so will lead to a mass campaign against the total boycott of MTN services and products on our Platform on social media and on Radio and TV.
We have absolute trust in our follower base and we believe this petition will gather a good number of signatures to send the right signal to MTN Ghana that they cannot take their customers for granted and be fixated on just milking them in a rather collapsed Economy.
MTN thinks they can hide behind excuses while they bleed us dry but this overwhelming surge of signatures proves we are done playing their games. Their boardrooms are finally starting to feel the heat we are turning up on them. This momentum is the first step toward forcing these corporate thieves to stop treating us like an endless ATM.

MTN data has become too expensive. You buy data for fiber broadband for a month and it lasts for only 3 week sometimes less I don’t download anything. Same with the data for phone it’s getting too much. The data disappears when you complain nothing is done about it

They’re killing us with their expensive data tariffs I just return home last two months and I subscribe to their 399 subscription and as am typing now all my data has finished within two months and now feeling reluctant to subscribe again.

It now feels like MTN could charge any price they feel . Data services do not obey the demand supply principle. It is rather the reverse of it for data. The more people patronize the lower the price gets. They should simply reduce prices

MTN network services are ridiculously poor even around east legon yet their charges are outrageously so expensive. I normally spend over two hundred Ghana cedis in two days or less on a few phone calls and online browsing when I visit Ghana.

MTN has really gone astray. These days when I buy 4GB for my wife, it does not even last for three days. Sometimes they even push it to the midnight bundle and lie that it was purchased for midnight. It’s really getting out of hand

MTN must respect it's customers/ consumers. You declare billions of profit each year and u keep using operational cost to increase cost of your products and services. What is this. DO NOT THINK THAT WE HAVE NO ALTERNATIVES IF WE GET THERE.
