Hello classmates and future colleagues. My name is Christin DewBerry, I am currently a 1L, and I am running for SBA Executive Treasurer for the 2022-2023 academic year. I have spoken with the current SBA Executive Treasurer, and I understand the roles and responsibilities of this position. I humbly ask that you consider signing my petition. My experience and positive attitude make me the ideal candidate for this position.

I have previously held treasurer positions. In high school, I served as treasurer for the senior class council. While in this position, I was responsible for maintaining the budget outlined at the beginning of the year, reporting the funds received from different fundraisers, and reporting the financial standing to the rest of the executive board. Then at Tennessee State University, I served as the treasurer for the Michigan club and co-committee chair of fundraising. While in this position, I was responsible for requesting funds from the school and alumni, maintaining a balanced budget, and reporting the financial standing to the board and the club. I recognize the importance of keeping accurate records and communicating the financial status to the board members. My previous responsibilities as treasurer are almost identical to those required for this position. I am confident that I will be able to carry out these responsibilities, and where I am unsure, I am not afraid to ask for help.

With the constant pressure of law school, SBA has been instrumental in providing outlets for students to have fun and give back. My positive attitude will enable the board to think outside of the box and facilitate new creative ways to have fun and give back. Additionally, I hope to be a resource that all students can come to with any questions or concerns.

I have enjoyed engaging with some of you at SBA events, and I would like to continue cultivating a fun-loving community among us. If I am elected SBA Executive Treasurer, I will ensure that we utilize our financial resources to the fullest. Additionally, I commit to creating opportunities for all of us to engage in both social outings and community service activities.
