On the 14th June a year 7 student from Prince Henry's Grammar School was knocked down by a cyclist on Newall Carr Road. She sustained a bad head injury and lost a lot of blood.Thankfully she now seems to be recovering well. But if a cyclist can do this amount of damage to a child, just think what a car or other vehicle could have done. It is time to put our children's safety at the forefront of the council's concerns and lobby for a pedestrians crossing to be put in place along Newall Carr Road in front of the school. Car's and other vehicle's speed down this road and do not seem to take into account that there is a school at the bottom of the hill but if we can get a crossing put in place then driver's will have to slow down.
