We call on Cardiff Council to prioritise a scheme to tackle the lack of 4 way pedestrian crossing facilities at Pantbach Road /Ty Wern Road /Ty’n y Parc Road (Monico) Crossroads.

Measures also need to put in place to prevent cars from mounting the pavement.

We would like the scheme to be implemented by the end of 2018.

My grandson will be using this road for many years to come as he has now started in comprehensive school and there is no crossing for him on his return bus journey. These roads are very busy main roads and crossings are needed to ensure the safety of our children and all pedestrians.

This junction is on the route to school, surely this is against any sustainable transport strategy, I have heard of people driving just to avoid crossing here. Not having a full pedestrian crossing is bizarre considering that the side which does have a button stops the traffic in all directions.

This busy junction is dangerous and in urgent need of safeguards for pedestrians, including crossing facilities and barriers to prevent cars mounting the pavement. Without these, the area cannot reasonably expect residents to walk and cycle safely, particularly those with young children, the elderly and disabled.

I walk my children to and from school past this junction. I have seen cars drive through when the green man light is on and shout at pedestrians crossing. A 4 way crossing is desperately needed, as is widening the pavements, which are dangerously narrow. I fully support this petition.

As a driving instructor regularly using this junction, I think there’s a need for improved, safer crossing facilities from the obvious pedestrian perspective but as a driver too.

Long overdue. There needs to be a pedestrian crossing on all 4 reads and the pavement near the white wall needs to be protected by e.g stone bollards to protect pedestrians against impatient drivers

The crossing is currently highly dangerous, especially for children, and is used by large numbers of people on the school run.

This is such a tricky crossing for pedestrians, and so busy around school opening / closing times
