The fact that this is even an issue, bothers me to the fullest. Im not sure how many are aware of this problem, but our teachers do NOT deserve to be treated like their jobs do not matter. Let's get this under control. We as patents need to take a stand for our teachers and our children. This statement came from Sonja Renhult, and it let's you know the unfairness of what our teachers are being offered.. Not to mention it shows just how much LUSD board members care..or don't..

"Lodi Unified School District is not providing a wage that is competitive with the other districts that surround us. Quality teachers are leaving us and moving to other districts with higher pay.

LUSD will try to tell you that they are offering 2% plus another 8%......What they don't tell you is that in their plan VERY FEW teachers will be able to qualify for that extra 8%....You need to work at a title 1 school, and work as a math/science teacher and be elected as an instructional leader (only about 1 in every 40-50 teachers will qualify as an instructional leader)

For 98% of teachers they are only offering 2%.

An additional 2% will still not make us competitive with other districts.

We don't have enough teachers right now and have long term substitutes in more than 40 classrooms!!!

If we want to attract and retain quality teachers to Lodi Unified, then we need to offer a salary that will entice the best to apply here.

Please contact the LUSD board of education and let them know that you want your children to have the best education possible! Not have them deal with a merry-go-round of long term substitutes.

So what do you say LODI, Let's step up and GET OUR TEACHERS PAID!!!!!!!!!!
