Paul's fiancée, Sian Woodland, and his family have been campaigning to add his name to the Cenotaph in Penarth. To date, the Vale of Glamorgan Council has refused to do so.

We just hit 2,500 signatures and the Vale of Glamorgan Council can no longer ignore this. Paul Woodland gave his life for this country and their refusal to honor him is a disgrace that will not stand.

I am a former Royal Marine. He died serving our Country although it wasn't a conflict he was still on duty. If this gives his family some happiness then it's the least the country can do.
This young man died serving the United Kingdom as a Royal Marine.....training is an essential part of that service and so he deserves equal recognition with others who have fallen from his home area......no decent person could possibly deny either him or his loved ones this simple honour .
the whole council should be sacked -and replaced by caring, thinking human beings. As the mother of a serving Royal Marine, I know exactly how much sacrifice is made by both the serving personnel and their families. Paul Woodland's name must be added in the name of decency.
I believe that Mne Paul Woodland having served his country honourably and tragically died training for further operations should be granted a place on Penarth War Memorial. Yours faithfully Jason Layton MC (recently retired Royal Marine)
This Royal Marine Commando deserves to have his name remembered - add his name to the memorial. This man served his country and different conflicts and rose to the highest level of professional soldiering within our armed forces. He is due our respect and should never be forgotten.

The name of this young man should be added to the list of the fallen. Vale of Glamorgan Councilors,you should hang your heads in shame, you sit and judge a young man who for you to sit in the serenity & safety and pass judgement on this issue gave you your lifes freedom at the expense of his own
