Good Day,

The intent of this petition is to gain support for what I believe is the most fitting way to honour Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the young soldier who was killed on October 22,2014 while standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. Without going into the political aspects of this tragic event, I simply wish to honour this young soldier who passed away protecting the Rights and Freedoms we Canadians enjoy every day.

I have written to the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Stephen Harper, formally requesting that a statue of Cpl. Cirillo be erected at the National War Memorial, and allow this young man the privilege of protecting the Memorial forever, as he gave his life doing. With your support, I believe this can and should be done.

Thank you for your time.

My heart breaks for his family. Nathan was a hero and a statue would be a beautiful tribute to his bravery.

Such a tragedy. A statue is the absolute least we can do for him. Lest we forget.

i believe very strongly that we should have our "known" soldier standing guard over our unknown soldier forever. By creating a statue of Cpl. Cirillo will bring this war monument full circle from the living to the dead. It will serve as a reminder to Canadians and the world that we support our armed forces and our country. WO Vincente and Cpl Cirillo are a very strong piece of the present and future Canada. Let us never forget. Let us forever honor.
