RE: Sergio Rodriquez ADC# 170003 Hearing Date: August 25, 2022

On November 7, 2016 Sergio Rodriquez deliberately ran down Hailey King and Osmin Gutierrez while they were riding a scooter. He then fled the scene. Hailey was on the hood for 220 feet before being thrown off and killed. Osmin was trapped under the truck for 2000 feet. He was a double amputee and passed December 14,2021 from his injuries that he could not overcome.

They both had baby girls that will not have a mother and father.

Rodriquez was convicted of manslaughter, 2nd degree battery and failure to stop. He entered prison on April 26, 2018. He was sentenced to 17 years.

We, the undersigned, STONGLY OPPOSE parole for Sergio Rodriquez. Justice demands that he serve the full sentence that he was given.

I logged on this morning and just stared at the screen because I really could not believe how much this has grown since I first typed it out in my kitchen. It feels like people actually see how wrong this is for those two little girls who lost everything. My mind is spinning a bit but seeing all this support makes me feel like justice might actually have a fighting chance.

This man only got 17 years. That doesn’t even begin to give the family and friends of the deceased closer. He needs to serve the full 17 years. These two kids had their whole lives taken from them and their kids will grow up without a mother and a father because this man decided to flee. Had he stopped on the initial impact both of them may have survived. Him trying to run just shows he had no remorse and didn’t care for their lives. If you can bring any comfort to the families involved a start would be to deny this man parole.

You take a life you should get life in prison. 4 years, 17 years it not long enough. The person Life's he took will never get a 2nd chance for anything. He should NOT get a 2nd. chance.

Protect the memory of those taken too soon. Keep him locked up, and away from the rest of society.

KEEP HIM LOCKED UP!!! Sick and tired of seeing these criminals get out and do it again...I know numerous people that would be alive today if they had kept these people behind bars!!!! If you can kill a mother and drag someone like that and have NO REMORSE....HE WILL DO IT AGAIN!!!

My own daughter is a victim of crime. I am lucky she is still alive. The perpetrator was sentenced to 5 to 10 years but only served 6 with 4 years good behavior. He is now out. Meanwhile my daughter has to watch over her shoulder the entire time. These people that commit crimes do not care. They do the crimes with the intent to harm. This person killed two people. Two lives. He should be made to stay the entire sentence. It is ridiculous he did not receive life.
