Dear Fellow Surfcrest Homeowner, The Surfcrest Board is imposing new highly restrictive parking rules that will take away our freedom and harass us and our guests on a daily basis. These rules are highly restrictive, inconvenient and intrusive. Contrary to what some Board members say, we did NOT have proper notice and a hearing before putting such drastic measures in place. Under these rules, this is what each of your friends, family and guests must do, regardless of the reason or duration of their visit: park their car, walk to your condo to get a visitor pass, walk back out to their car and display it, and walk back to your condo; then upon leaving, walk back to their car, get the pass, walk back to your condo to give it to you, then walk back out to their car again. Every guest, every time! This applies to nannies, babysitters, house cleaning crews, workman, someone dropping off or picking up something and wanting to stay a while. Every person, every time! Anyone not in compliance is subject to being fined or towed. Now, you\'re not really going to make your guest pay for that are you Of course not, you will pay it. If you want more than 4 guests, you will have to request special permission in advance from our property management company and have them mail you extra passes. This company many times does not even have anyone to answer their phone during business hours. No more of those impromptu get-togethers with friends and family. Practice saying this phrase \"Sorry guys, we can\'t do it at my house on such short notice, we have new parking rules!\" We have voted on more trivial issues, such as whether to heat the pool year-round, but were not allowed to vote on oppressive parking rules that will affect how we all lives on a daily basis. Many years ago when I was in college, I lived in an apartment complex in which management regularly towed vehicles not displaying a tag. Almost never did the vehicle belong to an outsider that had no business being there. Almost always, it belonged to a friend, family member, or worker of some kind that due to circumstances was unable to or neglected to display the tag. It resulted in a huge waste of time, productivity and money for the residents. We are no longer college students living in apartments. Now, we are grown adults living in million dollar homes. Yet here we are being treated in the same heavy-handed manner as if we were children. And of course you realize, we are all paying for the security company to harass us and our guests daily. Now let\'s talk about the \"Resident Stickers.\" These stickers are not to exempt you from harassment, but rather, to target you for it. If you have two or fewer vehicles and you park one of them outside, that sticker might as well be a bull
