We, the undersigned, are residents of Bladensburg Commons Apartment. We understand that the parking lot is designed for residential permit parking only. Although there are few visitors’ parking spaces, however, we, the undersigned tenants believe that the parking system is flawed. An amicable solution to the parking restriction matter should be considered as following:

  1. Allow only the LEASEHOLDER(S) a permanent parking sticker and provide 1 visitors parking pass/sticker to each household. While differentiating Bladensburg Commons visitors from surrounding neighborhoods.
  2. CREATE MORE VISITORS SPACES AND DIFFERENTIATE PARKING PASSES FOR ONLY BLADENSBURG COMMONS VISITORS AMONGST NEARBY NEIGHBORHOODS. Capitol View, Gateway Garden, and The Phoenix Apartments are all surrounding apartment complexes in the neighborhood. Each of them have implemented their own policy whereas if you are not a resident or visitor of their complex your car will be towed. If we enforce a similar policy as such, the towing company who we partner with will automatically know which vehicles will need to be removed and more potential visitors spaces could possibly be free. The entire back row of the parking lot and or the side area near the playground could be potential visitors spaces.
  3. PROVIDE RESIDENTS WHO ALREADY OBTAIN a permanent parking sticker with 1 visitors’ pass/sticker. While also still differentiating Bladensburg Commons visitors from surrounding neighborhoods.

Once again, we understand that this policy was put in effect not to inconvenience anyone. Regardless, it is still deficient. Your tenants who pay monthly rent should NOT have to scavenge the parking lot NOR especially park at the bottom of the hill in another neighborhood that is remote from their own building. By doing so, that is not protecting the safety of your residents. It puts tenants at risk! There are PLENTY of parking spaces in the lot that can become available to residents and their guest with minor improvements.
