Please sign this petition if you like me think it is disgusting to put parking charges on local parks and common land without consulting local residents. I believe it will cost Surrey County Council more to deal with the consequential mental health and obesity issues that will follow. Not to mention the time and money that will be spent fighting disputes with nearby residents over parking problems. I for one will never pay a penny in that machine and find it disgusting that my council should even try loading more taxation on an already very expensive area to live. I used to be proud of where I live but now I feel I'm living in a Conservative dictatorship zone. Next we'll be taxed to breath in fresh air.

Paying for parking to walk on local commons is outrageous on so many levels. Access to countryside, fresh air, nature, exercise are human rights that should be positively encouraged and maintained. If local councils need to save money parking charges for small car parks, such as Whitmoor Common must surely cost more to maintain and police, than any revenue it generates. Savings can be made in many areas of local government that may not be popular with Councillors however, they are supposed to be working for the good of the community. Keep local common land accessible to all, freely and without prejudice.
Its Common land and belongs to the commoners. How can you charge for it? What will you charge for next? Air?
Car park looks busy
i will not go there anymore or i will park in the housing estate over the road
I visit many woodlands and thea day they start charging for parking is the day they die out.. find another income revenue this is bloody scandalous! All its going do is keep people away.
It is ridiculous to charge for parking there

I thought “common land” was for the people therefore no charge. There are no facilities at Whitmoor its beautiful common land. The car park is small and full of potholes. Ridiculous to have pay to park.
