We, the Parents of HOAV Club Volleyball players, ask

HOAV to ESTABLISH AND ENFORCE NEW HOAV recruitment policy.

We will no longer idly sit by and accept the current state of recruitment in our region.
Allowing full blown recruiting to occur before the season is over affects morale, reputation and performance; not to mention, the emotional and psychological well-being of our children.
Our athletes.

The damage is widespread and has been experienced by players, coaches, clubs and ultimately the entire region. Our performance in THE Most important tournament nationally was greatly diminished due to the “wild west” approach of recruiting we have experienced for the last 2 years.

We ask that a new policy and enforcement of the policy go into effect immediately for the upcoming 2015-2016 season.

Our hope is that active recruitment and individual offers not begin until after the completion of the USA Volleyball National Tournament each year.

We also ask that the HOAV new policy have some sort of an immediate consequence.
The Kansas State Youth Soccer Association has a 6 month suspension for each club, team, coach, player or any other person who would persuade or attempt to persuade a registered player to leave his or her team.

We, the Parents, are also your customers. Please consider how vitally important our annual HOAV fees, as well as the healthy club fees we pay to participate in HOAV tournaments are to the future of HOAV.

I have coached club for five seasons so and been involved since 2000. It gets crazier every year. Doing ANYTHING for next year before August is crazy. When my daughter started, tryouts were actually tryouts!

The governing body needs to do some of governing. It's sad what the clubs put the kids through. Interesting that in the HOA's Code of Behavior there is no code for clubs and their directors. There is code for athletes, parents and everyone else. No code for the clubs,

this is a great idea because I personally did not get to go to nationals with my team this year because of the early offers. which was really disappointing. also it's a tough thing to take in for a 15 year old girl knowing that they have to go to nationals with those team and spend thousands of dollars when they know that they aren't even asked back next year..

I've never understood why tryouts were in the spring while the season was still in full force. Why not wait until August-Sept-Oct to hold tryouts? The club season doesn't officially start until Nov anyways. Other states hold tryouts in Oct and then the season starts in Nov. Makes perfect sense!

This is the second year we have gone to nationals after the recruitment has changed and both years our team did not live up to it's potentional because the moral was shot. Everyone knows it is wrong so fix it but you must hold the clubs accountable that break the rules and we all know who they are so fix that also.

Truly destroyed my daughter a couple of years ago...not only did it impact her playing, it impacted her final exams at school. These people don't take into account the "whole child" that these athletes are.

There should be a governance which provides guidelines and consequences for Clubs in how they conduct recruitment.
