The administration in New Berlin continues to ignore the obvious needs of our children while they sit in their offices. We see the decline in focus and the rise in anxiety every single day. They think we will just go away if they keep pretending our demands do not exist.

I agree. How about also bringing back the 30 minutes of p.e. that was taken away 4 years ago. Students had 3 30 minute periods, now have only 2. Learning the benefits of fitness as well as skill instruction is important as well as team building, supporting teammates and fun. Ask the kids.
Human beings weren't meant to be sitting at desks for 8 hours out of the day, let alone kids. It is a shame this petition needs to exist.
I completely support more recess time, but when we elect politicians who support as much standardized testing as we do in our district the time is needed to teach all the requirements. Back off on the testing a bit and we can have more recess.
As a senior in high school I feel this would have been great back when I was in elementary school since we only got like 15 minutes
I strongly believe that students should have more recess. It is along day without enough activity. When I was a teacher my students had two recesses a day. If great weather or reward we had three!
Studies show more recess is beneficial both educationally and socially.

As an educator for 39 years and Grandparent to 3 Elmwood students, I know the value of kids using their energy outside daily. Improves their classroom attention span tremendously.
