The club management just informed us that the plans to convert our tennis courts have been officially scrapped. I am incredibly relieved that we protected our space and kept our game alive here. Thank you for holding the line with me during this fight.

David Lloyd Chigwell is planning to alter the use of two tennis courts from tennis over to badminton and ‘paddle’ tennis .  No consultation with members has taken place.  There are currently 1500 tennis members using 11 indoor courts we feel that the loss of 2 courts is unacceptable.  Given the difficulties many members experience when booking courts we ask David Lloyd to reconsider and leave the courts as they are.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are just as frustrated as I am about losing our court time without any warning. Management is still dodging a real conversation about these changes but the fact that so many of us are speaking up is starting to make them look twice at their plans.

Seeing this level of support reminds me why I spend every spare hour on these courts. It feels validating to know that so many of you value our shared tennis community just as much as my family does.

Shocking that they didnt even ask us. I have been a member for years and this is really frustrating.

We pay enough for our memberships as it is. We chose this place for the tennis not for more badminton courts. Listen to the members for once!!

I really dont understand this decision. The tennis courts are always full. Very disappointed in management here.

Ridiculous. It is already impossible to get a court on weekends and they want to remove more? Sort it out David Lloyd.

LEAVE THEM ALONE. We already have a waiting list to play.

Total madness. The courts are constantly booked up. Where are we supposed to play?
