We, the undersigned, believe the safety and well-being of our children should be of the utmost concern for USD 373. Due to multiple concerns of James Wiens' behavior creating an unsafe environment for our children, we request James Wiens' contract not be renewed for the 2015-2016 school year.

I have received confirmation that the school board received our formal request regarding the contract renewal. Legal counsel is currently reviewing the documentation we compiled based on your submitted reports of the environment in the classroom. My next step involves preparing testimony for the upcoming board session to ensure these concerns remain on the official record.

The volume of support has now reached a point where we are formally requesting a meeting with the USD 373 school board. We are currently drafting a letter of concern that details the specific issues highlighted in this petition to ensure these materials are part of the official record.

It's frustrating that kids were talking 3 years ago when my son was in Chisholm about this man and he still holds a teaching position. Sickening!!
I want our school administrators to do their job and protect our children. It saddens me that when presented with evidence of misconduct, the school board and superintendent still defended this man.
That this is even a question is horrifying and extremely disconcerting. The elementary and Santa Fe spend time teaching kids how to safely respond to these situations which is important. Yet, the school will also employ the very types of individuals they warn against? Does the Board have any 7th graders? Put them in his class then! I will refuse to have my two girls who will be 7th graders next year in his class.
As a former teacher and a current sub I find this man's actions beyond disgusting. How can behavior like this be so long ignored by the administration? A student told me that she had gone to the principal over a year ago about this and nothing was done. This kind of teacher makes the whole profession look bad to the public!
The "lack" of teaching that has also occurred with this man should be taken into account. He lays out a test with answers so the students can cheat....... Also has the student aides/girls of course, stand on desks to hang up posters on walls in front of him. The next day he makes them hang up the SAME poster again!! Lets stand up Newton!

This shouldn't even be an issue. Protect our children FIRST! Unions, contracts, lawsuits are null and void if children are in harms way.
