An intensive outpatient drug treatment clinic is proposed at 226-230 Warren Street (white church on the corner of Wilsey and Warren next to NJIT). On August 29, 2024, (rescheduled from 7/25/24) the Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet to determine whether this use can happen. Make your opposition known.

Society Hill is currently one of the last neighborhoods in Newark without a intensive drug treatment clinic. Not in our neighborhood!

For more information, click the 7/25/24 link on the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment page. The city should update the material be updated to the 8/29/24 folder.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response this has received lately. It is entirely due to your efforts that our concerns are finally being recognized by the wider community.

I am strongly opposed to this next to my students dorm! Students in Maple Hall have night classes and need to be in a safe environment! Please reconsider placement!

These people need help, I understand that, but trying to find the quickest and easiest building to set them up in is not the answer. Especially when it can negatively impact the students in the area. Build them a new facility or find one that gives them the seclusion and safety they need without impacting others.

This poses much concern and threat to the students that would be near this facility. Build the treatment center elsewhere! The safety and education of these college students have already been established and they shouldn't have to be impacted by this. I am signing for my whole family (5).

This facility is inappropriate in residential areas. Downtown, Frelinghysen Avenue, more commercial/industrial zones are more appropriate, and will provide better access via public transportation which may remove an obstacle to treatment.

Opposing the Proposed Drug Treatment Clinic at Warren Street. I’ve never seen this been a good thing in the neighborhood. Especially with a community consisting of a lot of elders and school kids. STRONGLY OPPOSE!!!!
