The City Council finally folded and scrapped that discriminatory zoning ordinance today. We forced them to back down from this pathetic attempt to control who we live with in our own homes. Don't think for a second we stop paying attention now because we will be watching them every single …

The City of Lowell is trying to dictate who we live with while we sit around waiting for someone else to act. We are almost at 100 signatures so get this link in front of your neighbors immediately. Do not let these bureaucrats think we will roll over quietly.

I live in off campus with 4 of my best friends becuase the university could not find suitable for us. We do not throw parties or participate in any illegal activity. We keep our house peaceful and this ordinance violates the peace of our living situation.

UML does not have enough on campus living, or convenient on campus living to oppose students from living off campus. Most north campus majors will be forced to commute if they cannot live off campus.

This is idiotic. Nobody will choose UMass lowell as school if there's limited housing to only what they can fit on campus for four years worth of students. Ultimately the city will loose out on a massive amount of revenue in total. Surprised this is even up to vote

As the President of the Student Government Association, and effectively the undergraduate student body at UMass Lowell, I am wholeheartedly against any initiative that reduces the number of off-campus housing options for students. Myself and other student leaders are committed to making sure this does not go through.

MA already limites up to 4 unrelated persons living together in a house, why it’s necessary to reduce to 3 unrelatedly persons. It will make hard for tenants to find a place, and even harder to find an affordable place.

I would not have been able to afford to go to UML if I did not save thousands of $ a year by living off campus in an apartment with roommates. This is ridiculous especially with the lack of housing UML has and how expensive it is.

This law is absolutely ridiculous. Can’t live with friends in college together.
