Dear fellow participant in the sport of purebred dogs.
The proposed judging policy changes under consideration by the AKC board of directors includes some changes that many believe will be extremely detrimental to our sport. Please consider the below petition to be sent to the AKC by 11/21/14.

I oppose the proposed AKC judging approval process:

The proposal is detrimental to the improvement of our purebred dogs and our conformation sport as it provides no ability for an employee of the governing body of our sport to evaluate and critique a judge’s in ring evaluation of exhibits. While evaluation of purebred dogs against a standard is subjective, there is a level of those that can complete this charge competently and a level that cannot. It is the AKC’s responsibility to ensure its judges meet this level of competency. The proposed policy as written is an abandonment of the responsibility of the AKC to the sport, its breeders and its exhibitors.
