The Forestry Service officially withdrew the closure plans and our roads remain open. This victory belongs to everyone who stood up for Alaskan land access. Keep monitoring the Forest Service website so we can move fast if they try this again.

We, the undersigned, would like to bring the following problem to your attention and suggest recommendations to resolve the situation.

PROBLEM:  The U.S. Forestry Service has decided to close all roads and trails in both the Chugach and Tongass National Forests in Alaska to motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, atvs, etc). This clearly denies miners from accessing their claims as well as all Alaskans from enjoying the Alaskan wilderness.

SOLUTION:  The State of Alaska (Governors Office) should appropriate the monies necessary for the Alaska Attorney General to fight the Federal Government (U.S. Forest Service) to keep all roads and trails open for public use by motorized vehicles.

ALASKANS NEED TO GOVERN THE LAND WITHIN ALASKA NOT THE FEDERAL

GOVERNMENT!

The momentum behind this fight is undeniable now. Send a message to your state house representative demanding they fund the legal challenge to keep our trails open.

The government works for the people, not the other way around. These lands belong to the people and it's our taxes that pay to take care of them NOT shut us out. Vote people in office that believe in minimal government that works for the people, and keeping our freedoms as they were intended by the founding fathers.

Its very disappointing to plan your entire trip drive 3 hours just to find the trail your trying to access is closed and all the research and time was for not.

Don't close any roads or trails! Less government interference peoples with full use of public lands! Automatic Legal access for National Park in-holders without permit or other red tape!

We live in America, and the forests belong to the citizens of these United States.....our forests belong to us....it's not the kings forest.....don't forget who pays your wages.

Stop interfering with peoples right to travel, right to trails, roads & beaches. An apple is not an orange & a 500 lb motorcycle is not able to do the same damage as a 4,000 lb. car that weighs 8 times more, so reduce mc fines for everyone to a %age based on the weight of their projectile according to the laws of physics not some dumb imaginary BS!
