We, the undersigned Petitioners demand that Battle Mountain Bureau of Land Management District manager, Douglas Furtado, be removed from his position because he has been ignoring and continues to ignore the pleas of Lander, Eureka and Nye County residents and even his own staff. Mr. Furtado, without notice and without hearings, reduces and impedes agriculture, mining, recreation and hunting. His latest action in demanding radical reductions in grazing imperils tens of thousands of animals with wildfire.
Mr. Furtado's actions also imperil the economies of all Nevada counties.
This Petition will be presented for action to the public and the following elected officials:
Lander, Eureka, Elko, Humboldt County Boards of Commissioners, City Council of Battle Mountain, Nevada State Senator Pete Goicoechea and all other Nevada State Senators, Nevada State Assemblyman Ira Hansen and John Ellison and all other Nevada assemblymen, Governor Brian Sandoval, Congressman Mark Amodei and Senator Dean Heller.

fed gov needs to stay out of our business. leave us alone.
The fuel load is a total disaster waiting to happen. If those fires take out the range then there is nothing left for any of us.

My grandfather ran cows on that land for 40 years. Now we cant even get a straight answer from these people. Time for a change.
The bureaucrats in DC dont have a clue what goes on out here in the real world. Get Furtado out!
