We represent the Private Swim Clubs in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Each of our Clubs are outdoor, private, member-based facilities sitting on several acres of property. Our membership depends on us to provide them with a safe space/environment for their families.
Our Club's management/staff have the ability to post, announce and enforce the CDC and Board of Health guidelines as they pertain to: Ingress and Egress, Attendance/Capacity, Sanitation, Snack Bar Services, and Congregating in confined areas.
Our Clubs are not-for-profit 501c7 organizations; therefore we do not qualify for any federal, state or county grants and loans related to COVID. We depend on our annual membership dues to support our operating expenses, taxes, insurance, utilities, etc. We provide services to numerous families throughout Delaware County. If our Clubs are unable to open for the season, the results will be detrimental and irreversible.
We are petitioning the State and CDC to classify/categorize our entities similar to golf courses, private campgrounds etc., as an outdoor/open space facility - permitting us to open as scheduled on or about June 15th so that we can provide a safe, enjoyable summer for our members.

The feedback from our membership remains consistent regarding the importance of our outdoor facilities. We are currently preparing formal documentation to present to the relevant health authorities to emphasize our capacity for safe operations.

Because this is a private swim club, I believe that the owner, board and bonded members should have the ability to utilize this space while maintaining the same safety regulations as other privately owned outdoor recreation sights.
If people can relax with Golf, my family should be able to relax and keep our family tradition at our pool. Both are outside and social distancing can be achieved.
Kids need a place to unwind after being cooped-up in their house for almost 3 months. Plus it my daughter’s last year on the swim team. She’s a Senior in high school and has already missed out on her prom & graduation!
I am on the board of my pool and would definitely like some clarification on this . If we have to open late so be it but member s can’t be left in the dark! 6105290487
Please allow our pools to open. We have wide open spaces to allow social distancing and most do not have full membership, which allows for more space between members.
We need to get out of the house and enjoy the warm sunshine and physically swim in a pool! We can't do more virtual on-line entertainment.....it's making us crazy! Please open our pools!
We should be safe “in”’the water - with seating spaced out should be safe to be there.

There should be no reason why our swim clubs cannot open when you have large stores with many people walking by one another in a closed in air environment without any concerns.
