News of discussion by the HCSSL Board regarding discontinuing funding of the YourGameCam webcam on Field #1 is true.

There is a Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd at 4pm at the Bayland Park Community Center. The idea is to present the online signatures of as many Members as possible-- to prevent the decision to do so-- without the opinions of those who value this asset.

The expenditure for Comcast internet service at the present level of $112.03 per month was unanimously approved by the previous Board.

The current Board seems ready to deem this amount wasteful and to stop funding the webcam. It would behoove those of us who find value in its' many uses to speak up and speak out prior to a decision being made by a Board whose majority competes on Field #2.

Please-- sign the petition if you find the webcam useful-- and believe this Board should honor the commitment by the previous Board to American and United Division Members. As Members we have a right to make our opinions known and expect our Board to honor commitments made following the year-long evaluation and debate of the webcam's value to the League.

Also please-- sign the petition only once. It is imperative the signatures we provide carry the validity of our opinion.

May 1, 2016

The Board has been ignoring our messages so we need to show up in force at the upcoming meeting. Post this link on your Facebook page right now and email your division representative to demand they honor the previous funding commitment.

We hit a powerful milestone today that proves this league cares about our field webcam. Take the link to this petition and text it to three teammates right now. We need these names ready for when we face the board at the community center.

Our members are using and enjoying the Field #1 camera a lot — far more than I would have predicted. That's why the Board previously voted — overwhelmingly, if not unanimously —to make the monthly payments and to expand the service to Field #2. Unless something important has changed, that still sounds like a good plan.

As a manager, I am in favor of continuing the use of the camera system as it has many benefits. My company donated to the league for the original installation of the camera system, and I would hate to see investment that go to waste. If the league could not afford the monthly payment for the system I would agree to its abandonment, but I do not think this is the case.

The webcam has been a valuble tool to me to help me improve my hitting. It also allows my grand son to see me play which he can't otherwise do.

My VOTE is to keep the camera. Many reasons, watch game if I miss, and also view it later after my games..I also enjoy how you can Clip the video to see your swing, etc to help you get better..My Mom also watches as many other players that I know.. Also, Joe Reed, A major Plus player for Hendrix Team watches often from his home in Georgetown. Please KEEP IT!!!! Brian

As a manager, I use the camera all the time to review the games, keep stats, scout the next opponent, etc.

This service is not only a convenience for our members but is also a recruiting tool. When I decided to look for a senior league, I found the web-site. Being able to see the field and the players in a huge enhancement to our web presence. The question should be, why have not yet expanded the service to cover Field 2? Thank you

I have really enjoyed this except when it catches me making an out or an error. I would like to add a delete function (kidding).
