I have been going back and forth with the council all week to understand why our request was denied when other signs were approved. It is frustrating to see them ignore the safety of our spikey neighbors but I refuse to let this go quietly.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one who cares about our hedgehogs getting home safely. I started this in frustration after being turned away by the council, but now I know we have the backing to push this through.

Hedgehogs come in our garden every night there are 3 of them .last year a hedgehog got killed crossing the road near St Mary's school on Sancton Road near to where I live such a shame.
Please help in alerting drivers in reducing their speed to not only help these endangered creatures but also the safety of residents in Market Weighton in general. We all need to do our little to protect the hedgehog for future generations.
Signs would be a great thing to warn of hedgehogs as they need all the help they can get might just slow the idiots speeding also
After sadly seeing a very squashed hedgehog on the road last week this is a really important initiative.
There are far too many dead hedgehogs on the roads of market weighton. As a hog lover we see how many hogs are coming in and out of our garden and we live on a road that has had so many dead hogs from being run over. The town needs these signs.

Please let us have larger signs to help protect the hedgehogs which are been driven out of their natural habitat due to construction. If we carry on in ignoring the peril that the hedgehogs are in it won't be too long before the hedgehogs disappear from our countryside..
