I would like to suggest a chat for the purpose of holding debates, be they political, scientific, religious, philosophical, etc. I feel xat is lacking a place to have mature debates, as most chats consider those topics a huge source of drama.

I realize these topics are hugely controversial. Believe me, I've been on the receiving end of a cat fight between creationists and and atheists. However, I think a lot of good can come out of this type of chat. People need a place to fully express their beliefs and look for mature arguments.

I've spoken with Seyon, a good friend of mine and staff on a few different official chats. He'd be willing to help run the chat. I myself am Main Owner of Freewebs and Contests and have been a part of xat since 2011 or so. I do have extensive experience. If not Seyon, I would gladly work alongside a volunteer.

As I said, I realize these topics are quite controversial. The chat would be for /mature/ debates about these topics. Mindless flaming will not be tolerated and would result in a swift and hefty ban. This is not a free-for-all.

Overall, I feel that this chat would be beneficial. It would educate users about opposing viewpoints and spark interest in different topics among the community. Please consider my proposal. I can almost guarantee this chat would be a success.
