Current HOA bylaws allows the management and board to increase the dues by up to 10% every year. The dues is raised under the guise of saving for the to replace the roof "one day". The dues is now over $200 a month which is 1/3 of what most mortgages are in this community, and in some cases it is even higher than that. These are not new town homes, and the HOA is pricing the monthly fees out of their value. Exorbitant HOA fees has a negative impact on the resale value of the home. In order to change any bylaw, two thirds (2/3) of the homeowners must agree. By signing this petition you are asking 1) that the bylaws be changed such that the board and HOA managemant company cannot raise the HOA without a majority vote of at least 2/3 of the homeowners and 2) The bylaws are changed to read that a maximum monthly cap of HOA dues be set at $225.

I agree the dues are too high relative to what we are getting. They do a poor job with the exterior maintenance of my home, we have low quality landscaping and the pool area hasn't been updated since the 80's. If they don't have funds "to replace the roofs one day," then they are also mismanaging the money. There are other communities who get better things with a lower HOA fee.
I purchased in 2000 at which time the HOA was $83 Monthly and 2 years later a $2500 assessment fee was added for a new roof. We are now responsible for all deck repairs and replacements. I agree we are not getting the best out of our HOA dues.
One thing is true, everyone is frustrated. I've heard from many of you in response to this, and we are all tired of how things are run here. I've also heard from many of you who are unable to attend the meeting Tuesday. Unfortunately I fall into that category as well. Is there anyone interested in taking over as board president? I think a lot of things need to change in this community, but until we have new leadership, I don't see how we will make this happen. Also, if any of you are able to go door to door in the neighborhood and collect more signatures, tha will help strengthen our case. Thanks for the support so far! We've got to keep it up if we are going to get anywhere!
I have not had a wage increase in 8 years and my hours have been decreased. Very unhappy about this.
We need people to run for president. Given the response to this petition , I feel confident that anyone who ran would be easily elected.
ANOTHER ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THE HOA TO GET KATHY AND LOUISE OUT OF THE PRESIDENCIES. THEY ARE DESTROYING THIS COMMUNITY. THEY HAVE SERVED IN THE HOA FOR MANY YEARS WE NEED NEW BLOOD IN THE PRESIDENCIES OF THIS ORGANIZATION. I LIVE RIGHT AROUND THEM AND THERE ARE SOME PROBLEMS WITH THESE TWO PEOPLE.

HOA fees were, I believe, $173/month when I moved in under four years ago. With this increase, I will be paying $468/year more with no obvious improvement in community care. Again, $468 increase... in UNDER FOUR YEARS. This is outrageous. For what? Mediocre lawn care, summer pool maintenance, and possibly a new roof one day?
