I believe that District 97's capital improvement reserves and other funds should be used to resolve deferred maintenance on our schools before using public funds to build new administrative offices.

As stewards of public funds intended to improve our schools, I believe the district and the school board's first priority should be ensuring that conditions in our schools are reasonable and safe for the children of Oak Park. Long standing and widely known issues with air temperature as well as other known structural issues that effect our children's ability to learn in a reasonably comfortable environment should be resolved before any consideration is given to erecting new administrative offices.

Fix our schools first. Then the community can consider using our public funds for improvements for the administrative offices. http://www.facebook.com/FixOurSchoolsFirstOPD97

The stories coming in from parents about classroom conditions are unacceptable. Please email your school board representatives today to demand they prioritize school maintenance over new office construction.

Fix the roof and the hvac before you spend a dime on an office. My property taxes are high enough already we should be focusing on the kids not the bureaucrats.

My kid comes home everyday complaining about how hot it is in the classrooms. Why are we talking about fancy offices when the building is literally falling apart?

The administration needs to step foot in these classrooms in August. Maybe then they would rethink this whole new building project. Fix the schools first!

We need to keep money in the classroom. Not on administrative buildings. Really disappointed that this is even being looked at right now.

Ridiculous. Priorities are in the wrong place.

Total waste of money. Take care of the leaky roofs before you buy nice new desks for the office staff. Simple stuff people.
