A combination of Fixed and Mobile Live fire–training simulators is recommended so that a maximum 90 minutes travel time for 90% of our firefighters, to access them from anywhere in the province, is achieved.
These Fixed and Mobile Simulators will be capable of providing training for all aspects of Basic Firefighting, including Live–Fire Training, to meet the requirements of NFPA Level 1 & Level 11Firefighter.
To view the document, (The Elements of a Successful Fire Training Model for the Province of Nova Scotia) and its recommendations, which were presented to the Government, go to the following web sites: http://www.fsans.ns.ca or http://www.nsfs.ns.ca
In addition to signing this petition we would also ask each of you to call your local MLA and voice your support.
Your support in this endeavor is needed now!
The feedback I have received from firefighters across the province highlights how critical access to proper training facilities is for their safety and effectiveness. I have been in discussions with key stakeholders to articulate why these simulators are a necessity for our emergency services. Your engagement helps ensure that these concerns remain a priority for those in decision making positions.

The steady growth of this petition shows a deepening public recognition of the essential needs our firefighters face across the province. This momentum indicates that the safety of our communities is a priority that resonates far beyond the fire service itself.

Make this happen. If they are going to save my house or my life they better know exactly what they are doing in a real fire situation.

Our guys need the best training possible. 90 minutes is plenty fair for the safety they provide us.
