The Mammoet shipments of Tar Sand mining equipment slated for movement this fall not only have the potential to negatively affect our roads, rivers, and communities, but to further the climate crisis as a whole. Tar Sands mining in northern Alberta has been called out as the most destructive industrial project on the face of the planet. Community leaders from around the world have taken a strong stance against the practice. We strongly urge our community leaders to take a strong stand against not only the Kearl Oil Sands shipment project but the Tar Sands project as a whole.

I never imagined this would get this much traction because it just started as a frustrated thought I had while looking at the maps but wow people are really listening now. The energy feels different today like maybe we actually have a shot at making them pause and look at what they are doing to our roads and our future though I still worry about the massive scale of these projects.
