We, the undersigned, are concerned residents and citizens who urge our leaders and local council to act now to reject the development of the proposed 35 meter Telstra Telecommunications tower on Jetty Point Drive, Murrays Beach. Telstra is proposing a 35 meter telecommunications tower on Jetty Point Drive. Telecommunications towers, like the one Telstra wants to put on Jetty Point Drive, emit dangerous electromagnetic radiation (EMR) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Studies have shown that even at low levels of exposure to EMR there is evidence of damage to cell tissue and DNA, and it has been linked to brain tumours, cancer, suppressed immune function, depression, miscarriage, Alzheimer's, and numerous other serious illnesses. The proposed tower will be located within close proximity to homes and parklands, reserves, walking and bike trails and bbq areas used by hundreds of visitors each week. EMR can also have a deleterious effect on wildlife. Murrays Beach is an environmentally friendly estate that has no place for a 35 meter Telstra tower!
Seeing this kind of momentum feels heavy because it confirms how many of us are worried about what this tower will do to our home. I am exhausted by the fight but knowing I am not alone makes it impossible to walk away yet.

this is going to ruin the view and the environment. why would they even think of putting it so close to the walking trails?

35 meters is way to tall for a residential area. Keep our neighborhood looking like a neighborhood and not an industrial site.

Too close to the park and the homes. Do not build it.

Absolutely ridiculous. Nobody wants a massive eyesore right next to their house. Reject this proposal immediately.
