On Thursday 1st May, NCP in Croydon announced that it was going to increase it\'s charges at the car parks it controls within Central Croydon. This is the forth time the organisation has increased prices since they took control.
We the below are either businesses or residents in or around Croydon and request that with immediate effect NCP management reverse their decision to increase the rates as this will damage local trading within Central Croydon and drive more consumers to other areas.
I have been hearing from several local shop owners who are worried that these parking hikes will discourage people from visiting our town center. It is clear that the current pricing strategy is creating a real burden for those trying to keep our local economy vibrant during these difficult times.

Seeing this level of engagement reminds me how deeply these parking hikes affect the vitality of our neighborhood. It is encouraging to see our community unite to defend the local businesses that define Croydon.

Ridiculous. Shops are already struggling enough without making it cost a fortune just to park your car for an hour. Greed pure and simple.

Stop driving customers away to the out of town centers. Croydon is dying and this just puts the final nail in the coffin.
