This petition is to highlight to Thurrock Council, Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation, all local MP\'s and councillors that the people of Chafford Hundred are no longer willing to be ignored. We demand that Chafford Hundred is treated the same as all other areas in the borough and in line with both council and government regulations, sport facilities and public transport to existing sports facilities are provided for young and old alike to use. We have no, football pitches, netball pitches, basketball pitches, running track, swimming pool, in fact other than a few playgrounds suitable for children up to the age of 8 years old, we have nothing at all. Suitable areas have been identified for such facilities in the disused land on Rainbow Road and the unused land on Devonshire Road. These need to be developed for the community now, before they are developed for more housing. We also need public transport providing to the existing sports facilities, in the other areas of the borough. Currently there is no direct bus from Chafford Hundred, Drake Road area to Blackshots, with the journey taking over 1 hour by public transport and either a bus change or an extended walk. This is preventing young and old, from accessing leisure facilities elsewhere in the borough, particularly important when we have none. We ask that all regulatory authorities and elected officials, take their moral and legal responsibilities seriously and act immediately to provide the people of Chafford, with the facilities, afforded to the rest of the borough.
