We the residents of Rossmoor bordering on the 405 Freeway petition a redress to Cal Trans, OCTA and all other participating entities including Agencies, Cities and Counties, and those involved in reducing noise and pollution levels to State Mandated Safety Levels in accordance with the freeway, road, and highway alterations that have been done and the proposed expansion plans.

This petition is directed to Cal Trans and participating Agencies to correct the improper height of the sound wall previously built over 26 years ago and to rebuild it to 16 feet above the grade of the freeway at its highest elevation. This needs to be calculated from the Southbound side of the 405 Freeway, which is higher than the Northbound side. We are petitioning that the new sound wall footings be built to withstand auto/truck impact as the freeway will now be immediately adjacent to the wall and our properties.

Rossmoor residents were not included in any EIR or sound testing for this expansion project. Therefore, these 3500 homes' residents bordered by the 405 Freeway and directly impacted by this project having no input, request the necessary correction to the project which included increased height of the sound wall, asphalt in place of concrete for the freeway lanes to reduce the sound pollution, and the use of dense, fast-growing trees such as Brazilian Pepper Trees instead of Pine Trees in all landscaped areas.
