No D97/OPPD Building on Village Hall Parking Lot

Hello neighbors,
On September 10, 2012, Oak Park Elementary School District 97 and the
Park District of Oak Park presented a proposal to the Village of Oak
Park regarding the possibility of the three governing bodies sharing
administrative facilities, with the most troubling recommendation including the construction of a new administrative building in the parking lot south of Village Hall that will house both districts.
The benefits they claim seem dubious at best, and they do not seem to consider the adverse ramifications this building will have on our already congested, high-traffic neighborhood.
The Village will be making a decision sometime around December 1st on how to proceed with this development, and if you feel as we do, we do not support this new building in our "back yard." Please join us in showing the Village that we are not in agreement with this.
