Friends and Neighbors of Walnut Hill,

Many of you may know that developers are trying to put a parking lot in out amazing NEIGHBORHOOD! This parking lot WILL HAVE A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON OUR WAY OF LIFE!

INCREASED NOISE

INCREASED POLUTTION

INCREASED ACCESS/CRIME

INCREASED TRAFFIC CONGESTION

DAMAGING EFFECTS ON ENVIRONMENT (INCREASED SHADE & ICE)

DECREASED PROPERTY VALUES

I am putting together a petition to stop this from happening. I have spoken with several long time residents of Walnut Hills that are offing wisdom and guidance. These long-time residents have fought this same fight before and inform me that petitions are the way to get our voice heard and stop the gradual take over of our neighborhood!!!

After attending the preliminary meeting to discuss the “possibility” of rezoning, it was blatantly obvious that the developers have the support of the city/county planning office!

I am asking all my Walnut Hills neighbors to join me in this fight to keep the developers out of our NEIGHBORHOOD.

THIS PETITION WILL GIVE US ONE UNITED VOICE OF OPPOSITION!!

This is going to be a long uphill battle and many volunteers will be needed to stay on top of this situation. For instance, many residents do not even know they are trying to rezone the area!!!

Why are they doing it this time of year when they know most people are distracted by the holidays? Only TWO entities (out of how many Walnut Hills residents) benefit from this rezoning!!!!

They have left us with very little time to organize and fight their proposal.

We as residents need to join together and stop this slippery slope of development invading our peaceful neighborhood.

Please join me to keep Walnut Hills a neighborhood and not a parking lot!!

The developers think we are too quiet to notice this rezoning plan. Print out this petition and drop it at your neighbor's front door so they know what is coming.

The momentum behind this petition proves that our neighborhood is not going to stand by while developers threaten our quality of life. Post this link to your Facebook feed right now and send an email to your local representative demanding they block this rezoning application.

I am against the rezoning of the two lots totaling .946 acres as it may open the door for strip zoning within our Walnut Hills Community. The applicant was aware of the parking restrictions prior to setting up a business there.

It is bad enough that CDOT is putting in the widening of Arapahoe, we don't need this as well. I live on Briarwood Ave.

While I believe in local business development, it should it not encroach into zoned residential areas. If the community wishes to rezone after knowing all the facts, I'm in support of the process. This process seems to be not as transparent as it should be considering the ramifications.

As a homeowner in Walnut Hills, I am against the removal of two homes for the purpose of expanding a commercial parking lot into our neighborhood.

This is a residential neighborhood that has been here long before the urban sprawl of Douglas County. City of Centennial, please think of your residents, not just revenue!

It's sad that the people this will effect the most were the last to hear about the rezoning proposal! Big dollars at work, while the middle class suffer, yet again! Absolutely NO TO REZONING!
