Please join me in petitioning the Borough of Glen Ridge to amend the Municipal Code 17.12 to INCLUDE VAPE SHOPS (which sell vaporizer tools, e-cigarettes, or items that contain a small reservoir of liquid nicotine solution that is vaporized to form an aerosol mist) and HEAD SHOPS as defined by N.J.S.A 24:21-1. A retail business that sells any type of syringe, needle, eye dropper, spoon, pipe, testing kit, rolling paper or other paraphernalia or appliances designed for or ordinarily used in smoking, testing, weighing, measuring, injecting, cooking or sniffing marijuana, cocaine, opium, hashish and other controlled dangerous substances.

Currently, Code 17.12 prohibits the following:
1.Tattoo parlors, including body piercing establishments;
2.Manufacturing, wholesale trade, warehouse establishments and bus and truck depots;
3.Storage establishments, including mini-storage warehouses;
4.Pawn shops;
5.Check-cashing shops.

Best Regards,
KIMBERY and CRAIG CURTIS of Glen Ridge

While any property owner should have the right to lease to any legitimate business owner, our town is unique in that there is next to no commercial space. We need some parameters in place to limit the types of businesses who come into the limited space at the center of our town and are representative of the type of community we all love and enjoy.

The news of this disgusts me. Did this require any kind of special approval by the town? If so, who in the world thought it was a good idea? Just ridiculous.

Being a kid is tough enough without predatory businessmen around looking to take advantage of the situation and formenting an awful lifelong addiction.

This business has no business being in our town. It's not the demographic and is not what we want our kids and residents to be exposed. I will avoid having my kids go even to Just Sandwiches and the pharmacy to avoid their exposure of looking or visiting this store out of mere curiosity. This message should speak volumes to the landlord because it could have adverse effects to this business and surrounding businesses located at the arcade.

So disappointed. This is the only business you could find to take that space! Now I know why every time I asked at the pharmacy about it why they were so glum. A town this small with such a great community of families.

This is not an appropriate business next to two schools and the football field. There are many other businesses that Glen Ridge could benefit from given the limited retail space.

No vape shop next to schools!
