My daughter has connected with this teacher more than any other! Yes he made a human error, but unintentionally. Students and parents can attest to that! Why did students have cell phones during learning sessions I ask?! R those students looking for a reason to pass? Yes he made a mistake but NOT as big as an impact for positive as he has! My daughter loved to interact with him to learn. Please reconsider his termination!
Mrs Rocky really supports her students throughout her lessons in ASL, this year Mr. Russ has been by her side and has effectively set a great environment and given new hope to our Asl students at SRHS. I support this 100%
This teacher obviously has helped his students in more ways than one, not only is it extremely hot in Florida his AC is broken, he turned off his camera so the students wouldn’t see him. You guys threw this out of proportion completely this man is COMPLETELY deaf let that sink in he couldn’t even HEAR how the students were reacting to his mistake due to the fact that he was grading papers.Another thing I graduated from south river highschool you guys have let FAR more worse things slide from people that still to this day show no remorse for their actions,that includes students AND authority’s but no one wants to get into that.
Russ is an amazing teacher. It was an ACCIDENT! If he did it on purpose he would’ve seen the kids reacting like that and turned off his cam. He didn’t realize, he has a different culture and things that he does. He shouldn’t have done that but it was an honest mistake. I don’t think he should’ve been taken away from teaching in South River; A warning would have sufficed.
I genuinely feel bad, honest mistake that was made and he's a single father that enjoys connecting and teaching students ASL.

This is absolutely cruel and inhumane. Firing a single father for a simple mistake, which he APOLOGIZED for. Whilst your hiring a teacher who has conducted in illegal activities, making students pay to fix their grades. So disappointing south river.
